GSMA: Receiving the Outstanding Women Digital Leadership Award 2023

It was heartening to be among the three Outstanding Women Digital Leadership Awards winners, the results of which were announced at the Digital Nations Awards ceremony at M360, Seoul. On International Women’s Day 2023, the GSMA’s Diversity4Tech APAC initiative launched the call for write-ups, where authors were invited to share their experiences and contributions to digital technology. I was informed that the GSMA received many extraordinary pieces on individual contributions, My write-up shared my personal experiences, including initiatives to promote women in Tech. and it was one of the three that the jury selected as a recipient of the prestigious award. At times, mentors and women leaders need a bit of encouragement, too!

On 13 October 2023, apart from receiving the award from Jeanette White, the GSMA Head of Public Policy, APAC. I also participated in Participating in the GSMA Promoting Diversity for Tech in APAC – by GSMA Diversity4Tech APAC Community Seminar in New Delhi. While not surprising, it is hugely comforting that a community of women from across APAC shared similar experiences and hopes as we strive to encourage more women to participate in and benefit from ICT.

As a Women in Tech Mentor and Head of the India chapter of RIFEN, I was very happy to meet my counterparts from across the globe.
